New Developments Continue Across Katy TX!

Screen Shot 2013-09-23 at 2.31.44 PM

Katy TX is constantly on the move and expanding with businesses and new homes all the time!  If you’re searching for a place to live that has it all, Katy TX is a great choice.  In working as a Katy TX Real Estate agent, I’ve had the privilege of seeing Katy blossom into a vibrant city and one that buyers are anxious to call “home.”

Residents of Katy are also enthusiastic about the continual growth of their city and the new restaurants, shops, expanding roads and ways to get involved in their community.

Speaking of which, have you been wondering what’s being built on Cinco Ranch Boulevard?  It’s been announced that in December of this year, they’ll be opening a Fuddrucker’s-Luby’s restaurant!

Now, you may be wondering why these two are being combined into one restaurant space, but this growing trend is taking off and customers are loving this combination!  The idea is that family’s will no longer have to choose between the two dining destinations.  It’s a win-win!  Parents can enjoy their finer dining dishes from Luby’s and kids can feast on delicious Fuddruckers’ burgers all on the same patio!  Or, some are opting to dine at Luby’s and head over to Fuddrucker’s for their mouth-watering shakes for dessert!

Luby’s owns and operates 93 cafeterias, mostly in Texas, with 33 in the Houston area. The company has 58 company-operated Fuddruckers restaurants and 125 franchised units nationally, including 15 in the local area.  If you’re looking to support local businesses and enjoy dining at either of these restaurants, you’ll enjoy this new development!

Of course, there are a number of other exciting changes and additions taking place throughout Katy, and my goal is to give you an idea of what’s happening throughout our great city.

If you don’t currently live in Katy TX, but have been considering moving to the area, I would love the opportunity to talk with you more!  I’ve enjoyed helping buyers navigate the Katy TX Real Estate market and have helped many find the home of their dreams in Katy.

Contact me today to get started with your Katy TX home search!  I look forward to hearing from you!

Calling All Burger-Lovers: Carl’s Jr. is Coming to Katy, TX!

Who doesn’t love a new restaurant opening? One of the perks of living in Katy, TX is that there always seems to be a new delicious-sounding eatery entering our midst. I consider it a priority, as a Katy real estate and community expert, to stay on top of the local businesses that plan on setting up shop in the area. I’m always happy to help publicize and spread the word about new businesses. It gives the town’s residents more options for their dining and service needs and gives newcomers a sense of what’s available to them in their new home.

Burger lovers all over Katy, TX should be excited for this new addition to town. Carl’s Jr. is a burger chain, based primarily in California, which features everything from fresh charbroiled burgers to wonderfully satisfying breakfast fare. You can also enjoy chicken dishes, salads, and a number of mouth-watering side dishes and desserts that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Opening on the corner of Westgreen and I-10, this restaurant will be centrally located for the entire community’s enjoyment. Keep your eyes peeled for the grand opening of this mouth-wateringly delicious burger place!

One of the reasons that I place so much emphasis on new business openings and additions to the town’s economy is because it represents the development and growth of the area that draws so many home buyers to Katy, TX. One of the community’s largest selling points is that it’s an up-and-coming area with a lot to offer, and the arrival of a new restaurant showcases that. I also believe that events such as restaurant openings and storefront reveals bring everyone together to celebrate a new addition to town. One of the best qualities that Katy, TX possesses is its close-knit and supportive community, and when everyone comes out to support a new economic venture, that characteristic really shines through.

If you have any questions about what local businesses or restaurants are coming to Katy, don’t hesitate to contact me and ask. I make it my mission to know the goings-on around town. I can also assist you with any of your home buyer or seller needs.  I’d be thrilled to help you in any way I can. I hope to hear from you soon.

Katy is a city located in Harris, Fort Bend and Waller Counties in the U.S. state of Texas, within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The population was 11,775 at the 2000 census.

Katy, suburb of Houston, Texas, is named for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (commonly referred to as the "K-T Railroad", now a part of Union Pacific) that ran through Katy in the 19th century. Katy was once known as Cane Island. The name is derived from Cane Island Creek which runs just west of downtown. Cane Creek is a branch of Buffalo Bayou. The origins of the name Cane Island are believed to be from the fact that Katy was once a major sugar cane producer and rice producer. To commermorate the importance of rice to the Katy community, the Chamber of Commerce holds the Rice Harvest Festival every second weekend of October.

Katy was recently the location of one of the ten large red balloons in the DARPA Network Challenge on December 5, 2009. The balloon was stationed in Katy Park.

In 2009 the Gadberry Group named Katy as one of nine "9 from 2009" most notable high growth areas in the United States.
After a low income apartment complex was proposed for development in an adjacent unincorporated area, in 2010 the Katy City Council passed a resolution stating that the development would decrease property values.[5] The plans for the complex were canceled.
