One of the things that we love most about being Katy, TX real estate agents is the many different ways that our community comes together to celebrate. This year is no different, as we have found a way to pay tribute to one of the South’s main food delicacies: crawfish! Between this Friday, March 30th and Sunday, April 1st, you can be part of the very first Katy, TX Crawfish Festival. We don’t know about you, but three days of carnival games, rides, food, live music and fun just sounds too great to pass up. As your Katy, TX real estate and community resource, we wanted to send everyone a reminder about this event in order to keep our neighborhood in-the-know about one of our town’s most exciting events to date.
Are you familiar with the term “Lagniappe?” It’s a Cajun term that is commonly used to refer to a small gift or a little “something extra.” Between all of the amazing live entertainment that is lined up and all of the surprises in store for festival attendees, it only seems fitting that Lagniappe would be the theme for Katy’s first Crawfish Festival. This event is meant for fun and games, but it’s also going to benefit a fantastic cause. These festivities will be sponsored by Acadiana Group, a non-profit group which donates 100% of its proceeds to local charities. Not only will you be able to enjoy the fun, but you’ll be able to give back to Katy, TX just by buying a ticket and attending the event.
The weekend promises to be fun from the get-go, particularly since there are so many local bands found in the Houston, TX area comprising the live music line-up. Some acts that you can expect to see performing at the festival include Aaron Watson, Joe Nichols and Robert Earl Keen. You can also expect to see over 100 community arts & crafts vendors as well as many commercial exhibitors. The dedication shown by Acadiana Group in order to make this event successful has culminated in the ideal community celebration where you can shop ‘til you drop, ride amazing carnival attractions and listen to local acts. This will be an event that you won’t want to miss!
Located just south of I-10 on Katy Ft. Bend Road, (near the Katy Mills Mall), the Crawfish Festival is going to be held at a convenient location for many in the area. Tickets are relatively inexpensive too, priced at $17.00 for an adult three-day pass and $8.00 for a child three-day pass. With reasonable prices, a convenient location AND the opportunity to give back to those in need in Katy, we can’t think of a good reason NOT to go to the festival! It’ll be a great way for the community to come together, and you can be part of an event that will hopefully become a part of Katy, TX’s tradition.
